The quick numbers
- 494+ monthly organic visitors (from near zero)
- 69 organic keywords ranking (from 0)
- 9+ keywords at position 1
- 13 Google AI Overview citations across 4 pages
- DR 30 with 224 referring domains
- Under 90 days to meaningful traffic
The situation
NashBio is a health and biotechnology company based in Nashville. The site had existed for several years but had almost no search visibility. No blog, no content strategy, zero organic keywords ranking. The referring domain profile had barely grown despite the site being live for a long time.
The problem was simple: Google had no reason to rank the site. There was nothing to rank for. The site was a brochure with a few pages about the company, but no content that matched what people were actually searching for.
What we did
- Built a content strategy from scratch focused on healthcare comparison keywords
- Published keyword-clustered blog posts targeting specific healthcare topics
- Implemented technical SEO foundations including proper indexing, schema markup, and site structure
- Built referring domains through guest posts on health and biotech publications
- Created E-E-A-T signals with author credentials and source citations
- Targeted healthcare comparison queries that had lower competition but genuine search demand
The results
The speed of results surprised us. Healthcare SEO typically takes 6+ months to show meaningful traction, but NashBio saw movement within weeks because we filled a complete content vacuum.
Month 1 (Sep 2024): Content published, technical foundations set. Early indexing signals.
Month 2 (Oct 2024): Keywords started ranking. Multiple healthcare comparison terms hit page 1. Organic traffic spiked from near-zero to 400+ monthly visits.
Month 3 (Nov 2024): 9+ keywords at position 1. AI Overview citations started appearing. $1,500 monthly traffic value established.
Top ranking keywords:
| Keyword | Position | Monthly Volume |
|---|---|---|
| european healthcare vs us | #1 | 90 |
| us vs european healthcare system | #1 | 70 |
| american healthcare vs european | #1 | 50 |
| nashville biotech companies | #1 | 40 |
The business impact
As a biotech firm, NashBio's revenue model is different from a service business. The SEO campaign delivered two types of value: direct lead generation and brand authority positioning.
The organic traffic brought qualified visitors interested in healthcare innovation, generating an estimated 8-15 inbound enquiries per month. For a biotech company where a single partnership or contract can be worth $50,000-$200,000, even one qualified lead per quarter from organic search makes the investment worthwhile.
The estimated monthly traffic value reached $1,500, with the total campaign generating an estimated $18,000+ in annual traffic value from a standing start.
What made this work
The keyword strategy was the difference. Instead of targeting broad, competitive terms like "biotech company" or "healthcare technology", we focused on healthcare comparison queries. These were longer-tail, lower-competition keywords where a well-structured article could rank quickly.
The clustering approach meant every piece of content supported the others. Articles about European vs US healthcare, healthcare system comparisons, and biotech innovation all built topical authority in the same space. Google saw a site going from zero to comprehensive coverage of a specific topic, and rewarded it accordingly.
The 90-day timeline is unusual for healthcare SEO, but it happened because we were filling a genuine content gap, not trying to outrank established competitors on their core terms.
